Legitimate mails getting rejected by RBL
I've got my server (cpanel/exim/fc2) set up to reject spam at smtp level using RBL according to this tutorial. It's been working beautifully for months but I've recently been alerted that it occasionally blocks legitimate mails. In this case it's from an aol user and their mail server is listed in spamcop.net. Now I understand that the responsibility lies with aol to stop their servers being used for sending spam but most people don't know that and it looks to them as if the problem lies with me when mails to me bounce back to them.
Can someone suggest an alternative? Should I just disable the RBL and rely on spamassassin?
