Httpd Keeps Crashing

Hi, I have a p4 3.6gz HTT, 1GB of ram, cent os 4.1, with cpanel.

My httpd keeps crashing everytime I try to enable Keepalive. The reason I have keepalive on is because when I turn it on, my website goes extremely fast

I drain about 10gigs a day with about 4-5k visitors per day...my site allows hotlinking, and gets probably millions of hits per day. I've disabled all stats program so they don't lag the server. Here is my current httpd.conf settings for keepalive.

KeepAlive On
MaxKeepAliveRequests 0
KeepAliveTimeout 1
MinSpareServers 40
MaxSpareServers 100
StartServers 40
MaxClients 500
MaxRequestsPerChild 0
Can anyone recommend anything? Logging into WHM, and checking apache status, it says I have 167 requests per second, and 0 idle servers (11:52AM PST).
