Yum update keeps on timing out!

Hello,

I am having a problem with yum update timing out.
The update downloads are extremely slow.

I get the following error:

---> Package libpng.i386 2:1.2.7-1.el4.2 set to be updated

http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/up...MS/perl-5.8.5-24.RHEL4.i386.rpm: [Errno 4] Socket Error: timed out
Trying other mirror.
Error: failure: RPMS/perl-5.8.5-24.RHEL4.i386.rpm from update: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.

Please tell me how to fix this.
