Can not configure Outlook with GoDaddy
Web site with the domain name mydomain.com. The domain name is registered
with GoDaddy as well.
The Web site is working fine and the domain name is pointing to it properly.
I have created an email address in my go daddy account called
test@mydomain.com.
The email address is working because I can send and receive email with the
SquirrelMail email client which is provided with my GoDaddy account.
However, I am not able to configure Microsoft Outlook to open the emails.
Outlook can send email but I can not see the content of the inbox with it.
I read all of the help documentation provided by Go Daddy about setting up
Outlook. I've tried the following configurations:
Configuration 1:
POP3 server: mail.mydomain.com
SMTP server: k2smtpout.secureserver.net or smtpout.secureserver.net (I've
tried both)
SMTP port: 80
SMTP server require authentication: Yes, using the Login and Password of the
email address.
Configuration 2:
POP3 Server: mail.mydomain.com
SMTP Server: mail.mydomain.com
SMTP port: 25 (default)
SMTP server require authentication: No
I've also tried other combinations.
I've also tried to modify the MX record of the domain with the following:
MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = smtp.secureserver.net
MX preference = 20, mail exchanger = mailstore1.secureserver.net
Still does not work.
