Crazy stuff happening, need advice!
Hey people... Maybe this is a bit off topic for this forum, but it involves both my server, and my website including vbulletin...Today at about 1AM EST, I started recieving error messages that vBulletin couldn't connect to the MySQL server. I restarted the VPS and still no go. It was giving this error:
Code:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket ' /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
The technician whom is working on it said he tried re-creating the socket, and rebuilding mysql, but the mysql server refused to start.. (or atleast something to that effect)
My site being down is nothing new to me, and I don't think it's my host's fault. I think it has something to do with me getting a truckload of traffic every month from actual visitors + tons and tons of seach engine spiders, and some of it being shady.
Im just not sure... what to think.. I hate downtime, it makes my site look bad, so does being slow.. which it is at times. Hopefully this new server will give me a new bed to work from, but these downtimes...
