iptables allow smtp, imap (squirrelmail)
i've been setting up my server, and have just gotten to setting up email
dns, apache, php, mysql, all that's done, i'm using fc4
but i'm having issues with mail, i have setup postfix and dovecot using yum
and virtualmin to setup my web server, and a couple mailboxes
i can send (using mail) and receive mail on the server (in the user's mailbox)
but i can't use an email client like thunderbird, or squirrelmail to send and receive emails
thunderbird always says "authentication failed" when i try to login to download emails
and can't connect to the smtp server to send
and squirrelmail always says connection timed out (couldn't connect to imap server), when i try to login
and when i just say allow all in iptables, then try squirrelmail, it just says login incorrect
default pam authentication is on
i don't have selinux on
i had to remove all the text from the conf/log files cos it was complaing about smileys
any help
