Limiting spamassassin system resources

Hi

Sometimes on my debian server spamassassin just goes bonkers and use system resources like crazy. Like

18743 spam      18   0 53564  38m 1728 D 44.6 65.2   0:03.84 spamassassin
If there are more than a few of these they can really slow my server down.

Are there anyway to prevent this? I am running debian with webmin.
