Megaupload and Rapidshare, backend system?
Basic question:
What system/backend would you choose for your fileservers, if you where going to launch a service like Megaupload and Rapidshare (configuration)?
SATA drives in RAID5?
What about write/read issues (iowait)?
I have a similar service but my fileservers cant handle the load.
If I disable upload so only downloading is working, then the load is stable around 3, if I enable uploading then the load jump to .... sometimes around 300, normaly around 30-70.
My fileserver conf.:
Dual Xeon 2.4
2GB ECC
3 x 250GB SATA2
RAID5
3ware RAID5 SATA2 controller
