fsockopen disabled
Hello,My host has disabled the php function fsockopen that i need for a few php scripts on my site.
here's the settings they use... minidemo.hostultra.com
I politely asked them to enable this function. They refused because I'm on shared hosting and they say it would have to be enabled for the entire server.
Does fsockopen really cause any significant security problems? Everyone I've talked to about this says that 99% of hosts have it enabled and that my host is being ridiculous.
I was hoping to get a few professional opinions and suggestions before I attempt to convince my host again. I would like to avoid switching hosts because I've already pre-paid for the year.
Thanks,
Mantooth
