cPanel: can't remove addon domain

Hello

A customer of mine added an addon domain and now he can't remove it:

Syncing Ftp Databases....Done Sorry, you do not control the domain xxx.com! Sorry, the subdomain music cannot be removed because it is linked to the addon domain xxx.com. You must first remove the addon domain.
I also tried to use reseller-account override, but that didn't work either. I have root access to the server btw. Any idea? This seems like a cPanel bug to me...
