Required software?
I have been told to set up a server to host a website with database to replace a dedicated one that we have at the moment. I have no experience with the actual server side of things so need a little help. The OS will probably be CentOS 4 (good choice?). I dont have much experience, but am working on it!
The things I know I will require, and can install myself;
Apache
mySQL
PHP
Some form of FTP.
The things I will have problems with;
DNS. Should I use BIND? I assume I will need this anyway... lol.
Mail. Will need to be able to send and recieve emails to the particular domain. Any suggestions?
The server is being co located - what should be done about security. Firewall. AV?
Also, what should I do about remote admin?
ANY help will be vary much appreciated!
