SSL Certificates and Plesk
Hi there,First, I'm sorry if the answer to this question is around in the forum. I tried searching but found nothing at first sight.
We have a dedicated server in a hosting company for our customers (we develope Web sites), and we manage it. It has a "basic" installation (Fedora1, Plesk 7.5, etc.) and then we are the only ones able to create domains, manage them, etc.
Recently we acquired an SSL Certificate from Thawte. To tell you the truth it was my first one, and it was not easy to understand the whole process. I though I had it working, until today, when I had to buy another one for another domain, also hosted in this server.
Briefly, what I did was:
- Enter the Plesk CP as admin
- Go inside the domain
- Certificates, buy cert, whole process...
- Go to the Client options in plesk
- Select IP Pool
- Select the new certificate for this customer.
- OK
The domain was working OK in https and we had the certificate installed.
Today, I did the same steps but with this second customer.
When I tried to open the FIRST domain in HTTPS, it said that the certificate for domain1.com is valid, but its owned by domain2.com ...
Here is where I got lost.
As I understand now, when I change that IP Pool option, I'm changing the certificate for the WHOLE server, isn't it? So then... how do I assign this certificate only for one domain?
We bought SSL123 certificate.
When I go to "Certificates" in the main server window, I only see plesk's. When I got to this domains, I see their certificates, one for each of them. But it says "used: 0" in the second one, and "used: 1" in the first one.
I'm really lost... Should I have bought another thing? Should I have installed it in another way? Is there a buttom somewhere I'm missing?
Thanks in advance for any answer.
Regards.
