Create your Personal Web Server! ::HOW::?

Hy all, I'm new here, and sorry for my english.
I have now red a lot of your nice posts, but what I need is somebody to show me:
What to do, step by step, in creating my personal web server on my PC.

So I can manage others websites, create my own web adress (com, org, net...), all on my hard disk, the same thet professional host companies have.
I was trying with IIS 5.1, but I'm not shure if it is the right thing to do.

Maybe I have run to far with my request, cos I didn't red verry cearfully your posts.

Can I do it, what do I need and wht do I have to do.
