.swf files & security
I'm not sure if you are familiar with the movies section in flashkit.com. There is a 'movies' section where people offer their flash movies for free in both .fla and .swf forms.
My first question is if it's ok for me to use a movie for my website or if I need to get permission from the author.
I would also like to know if it's possible for one of these movies to be a security risk for my dedicated server. For example might they contain some kind of script used to gather information or otherwise interfere with the server?
