O/S requirements for CMS and messageboards?

Hello all,

We're in the process of moving servers, and we're trying to choose the right O/S for our system.

Our site uses Joomla and SimpleMachines as the basis for the entire community.

Would you know if Fedora 4 - 64bit on an Dual Opteron system would fit the bill?

Basically, would mysql+php work well in this environment? And further, would Joomla/SMF work?
