/ partition is full after CentOS vanilla kernel install

Hello,

I successfully install new kernel form kernel.org following the instructions off this thread:

The problem is that now my / partition is almost full.
The directory /lib/modules/2.6.15.6 is 190M, much more the RPM kernels.

$du -hs /lib/modules/*
189M /lib/modules/2.6.15.6
25M /lib/modules/2.6.9-11.EL
25M /lib/modules/2.6.9-22.0.2.EL
How can I make it smaller?
