Mandatory SW for new server

I'm new to having a Server, therefore I would appreciate your suggestions/hints:

o CHKRootKit,
o RootKit Hunter
o APF Firewall,
o host.conf hardenening - prevent dns lookup poisoning & spoofing protection

Are they have to haves? Anything else?

Also I guess eAcellerator (I'm using centOS) needs to be installed if using php/mySql?

BTW: Using unmanaged, with platinum support.
