.htaccess bypass fix?
My last host had cPanel, I used it to password protect directories. My new host doesn't use cPanel so I have to manually put in the .htaccess files. I'm new with them, so I just copied the ones I already had over to my new webhost and edited them. And it works except....i found a pretty big flaw and don't know how to fix it.
It asks me for the user/pass when I goto http://mydomain.com/admin. But it will not ask for a user/pass and just take me into the "password protected area" when I goto http://www.mydomain.com/admin. I checked my other site that has cPanel to find out the same thing happens, not secure at all.
What is the problem here and how can I fix it? Thanks
