Host's remote GUI
The following question is a very, very basic question. When you use Linux on your own computer, it has a GUI with which you can interact. When your host (either a VPS, dedicated, or even shared host -- who gives you ssh access) uses Linux, is it possible to have some kind of remote connection that lets you actually use the GUI just like it was on your computer?I'm guessing that if this were possible then a lot of interesting things would also become possible, such as using an IDE that a user has installed on his hosting account, right?
If this remote GUI capability exists, what is it called? i.e. What should a host be asked specifically if a potential user wants to know if they offer this functionality...is there some 'industry terminology'?
Thanks.
