Tools and methosd to determine server load.
I am giving a try to a host company for a reseller account.
I talk with them prior to decide, and it was told me that I am allowed to stay within 5% of the server load.
Since I couldn't figure out what does such value implies to me I asked to them to provide further details.
I explained I have already a dozen of websites, mostly they run mambo / Joomla and I hope to setup more websites in the future.
They told me that I will have never problem. their server run on an athlon 3800.
Also I asked if this 5% would to be considered cumulative for all the siteas, they say no 5%for each site...of course.
If I eventually I go over this 5% they would notice me to fix it before to suspend the account.
I have barely setup a couple of sites now, but while I was backing up a database I noticed that the server upload was flashing red and indicated an 8.64%
I really I am worried.
I also performed another test.
I started with a server load of 0.60% then I hitted just 10 links on on site and 10 links on another.
GOD! serverload show 3,85%
What should I can aspect?
Standing at these values it is like if I set up 20 sites and I have 1 visit for just 10 sites then I would have the other ten shut up?
Or if I reach just 40 page viewed on a site at the same time I am out?
Please really need advices,
also , is it there any tools, or some method that I can use to test how much traffic this server could support to avoid problems, and eventually to decide to look to somewhere else, since it is my 30 days trial?
