how to do this via SSH commands ?

Hi
i have a floder of images ...all the images name are:
WHT_1.gif , WHT_2.gif , WHT_3.gif , ....etc

Now My question is how can i replace all the WHT letters to LTT ...so the images names will be :
LTT_1.gif , LTT_2.gif , LTT_3.gif . ...etc

i want to do that using SSH ..any commands like replcae ?
