[Info Request]Replacing Server

Hi All,

I am replacing my main webserver (due to age) with a new machine. I have a few concerns with how the transition between the servers will work. I am using slackware and I don't have any sort of control panel, as I am only hosting stuff for myself these days [Info Request]Replacing Server

1. To backup my sql databases, usernames , etc, should I dump the entire data into a backup file ? or should I copy the entire mysql directory (/usr/local/mysql/ ) over to the new server?

2. I am using Vpopmail + Qmail - would I just need to reinstall the services and then transfer across my datafiles from the old server to the new one? (/home/vpopmail/ )

3. Last but not least, I am upgrading mysql on my new server to 4.1.15 from 4.0.20 , is there anything major I need to take care of ? Or should it pretty much work once I copy the data over from the old server?
