security centered managed hosting?
I see that administration, especially of security is some
kind of endless task on learning on all levels of interest.
Doe you guys know a good managed hosting company
that is able to take care of all aspects of security?
I mean not only to give me a hardware firewall for
some bucks, but the full aspect of security.
(f.e. they should crawl over my site the whole day
to check also for high level security breaches like
php version, configuration setting, unsecure php
scripts, patches to all open source applications
on the server.
I know that this is not possible, because f.e. you change
som open source script, hack by hand some additional
php pages that break security rules, and the managed server
admin breaks with the next php update your script.
Also please give me recommendation how you manage your decisions about outsourcing.
Which services are better to give to a third party, and to whom?
- eMail = outsource to the hosting isp?
- Webmail = just turn the hore, squirrels, spamassasins off
and forward each single user to a gmail account?
