Serious question with APF

Hi all.

I have apf installed with BFD as well. I have warnings sent to me every time a Brute Force attack happens and I got this warning for today in the mail:

Aug 16 23:31:17 my_server_name sshd[15175]: reverse mapping checking getaddrinfo
for ptil-164-9-in.primus-direct.net failed - POSSIBLE BREAKIN ATTEMPT!

When I restarted APF today to open a port, i got this:

Starting APF:iptables v1.3.0: host/network `ptil-164-9-in.primus-direct.net' not found
Try `iptables -h' or 'iptables --help' for more information.
iptables v1.3.0: host/network `ptil-164-9-in.primus-direct.net' not found
Try `iptables -h' or 'iptables --help' for more information.

I ran chkrootkit but that came up negative...did the reverse mapping do anything to my firewall's integrity?
