Let me point out first my sysadmin ususally takes care of this stuff for me, since I don't know too much about linux.

But recently I had a new drive and backup drive replaced, because my other two drives began to fail.

Well after the accounts were downloaded from the old main drive to the new one, I realized that nearlly all my accounts were corrupted in such a way, that ftp and file manager would not work.

But after waiting 24-48 hours while backups were made, and then trying to restore the accounts--the accounts began to function once again. So I'm guessing permissions somewhere were altered.

Since I use a mac I usually use file manager to work on my own websites (I hate cyberduck) and today I wanted to work on my new design for my hosting website. I login to cpanel and I go into filemanager, and the same issue I had with accounts before is now affecting my main webhosting website. The website still functions and operates like it should, but I can't use file manager.

Which is weird, so it must have ben something that happened over night.

I've checked just a random number of accounts all my other ones are working far to my knowledge.

That's a screen cap of filemanager.

It's kinda weird that this would randomly happen, especially since I've expierenced no problem since I my new drives put in.

Has anyone ever expierenced such a problem before? Or does anyone have any idea to what could cause this? Permissions keep going wack
